I have so many earrings that I knew I had to come up with something so I could walk up and find a pair. So a few years ago (yes right after we bought this house 8 years ago) I came up with what you see in the above picture. Organizing and displaying your jewelry works great if you are like me and love to wear different earrings every day. I love being able to walk over and see my pieces and picking what to wear. It feels like shopping in my own closet.
The bracelets ended up on these french door rod holders that I also found on clearance. Yes, I love the clearance aisles. The rods work well but it is a bit cumbersome sometimes if the one bracelet you want is at the beginning. Oh well, the price you pay to have them organized and looking pretty. A couple months ago, I added the paper towel rolls because I found a couple of my beaded bracelets were stretching out and I came up with this idea to keep them from sagging too much on the rod. So far it is working out great.
What held my post type earrings were styrofoam egg cartons which looked a bit trashy. Then one day a couple years ago I bought 18 count eggs that had this plastic tray. I thought to myself how much neater and cleaner this would look than the numerous egg carton halves I had. This drawer is in my walk- in closet and is used strictly for jewelry. Underneath the egg carton is a jewelry drawer insert that I had purchased a few years ago at Lowe’s on closeout. (Note: underneath the earrings are my rings, watches, and other pieces of jewelry).
I used a small wooden dowel and some metal holders I found in the garage and made the bottom earring rack. The earring organizer on the top I found on clearance years ago in the craft store. It looks like a miniature curtain rod and I knew it would work perfectly to hold some dangling earrings.
And you are right if you guessed that I found all of these tie/belt racks on clearance. I also find them at garage sales too and they work fantastic for necklaces. Above you will see that I also found a rack with hooks on it t0o, but it is not my best organizing piece (it does do the job thought).
I hope I have given you some inspiration and ideas to organize your jewelry. Thanks for stopping by and visit more on my blog.
