This is a simple storing option if you like the old Ball (or Mason Jars). The jar I have holds up to 12 oz of ground coffee perfectly.
You can find these jars on Ebay or Amazon and sometimes at thrift stores of garage sales. I have had mine for many years and could not tell you where I found them. I love mine because of the hinged top that makes it look vintage.
You will want to find a 12oz jar since many bags of coffee are sold as 11 oz. If you buy coffee that comes in 12 oz you can tap the jar lightly and the coffee grinds will settle in the jar to make room for the 12 oz bag. Until about a year ago, coffee came as 12 oz so I had to do this technique myself many times.

I love old Ball jars, I always look at the bottles and jars when I go to the thrift store. Great tip! I usually have to tap my jar to get all my new bag of sugar in the jar.
