Laundry tip: Persil Proclean for tough stains such as blood, grease, and food. I highly recommend that you have a bottle in your laundry area. This is not a paid endorsement. This is a bona fide recommendation for a product that I have found over the last 6 months that really works. How did I discover this awesome laundry detergent?
With a coupon, on the markdown rack at my grocery store, for less than $2! I know this was an insane price that I could not pass up. I am a frugal shopper and have been for most of my life. I extreme couponed before it even had a name and a tv show and I would only buy things on sale or clearance. Truth be told I have had to teach myself at the age of 50 that it is okay not to have a coupon (or a sale) if I really want it.
Back to the Persil ProClean and why I find this product so great. It starts with an accident yesterday (August 2, 2016) when my 18 year old son was helping his boss change a flat tire and the jack gave way and pinned his hand between the tire and the trailer. By the time my husband and I got the call and made it to the emergency room to meet our son there, he had blood on his jeans and his shirt. I would have more pictures but I was not intending to write this post until I pulled the jeans out of the washer and found them blood free!
My son is okay. He had 8 stitches on 2 of his fingers and he really cannot stop talking about how many people stopped to help lift the loaded trailer off his hand along side a busy road. A stranger took him to the emergency room and we never got to thank him but my son said he did (so I hope the stranger knows how grateful we are that he took the time to make sure my son was okay).
I digressed again. Sorry.
I have been using Persil ProClean for a few months and have found it to remove most grease and oil stains, food stains, dirt and grass stains, and now blood. I just dabbed the ProClean on the spots and threw it in the washer in cold water (I only use hot for whites and kitchen rags). I did not let it sit and the blood had dried after 5 hours on my son’s jeans. It is important for me to point out that you do not use a lot of this laundry detergent! You use about a 1/2 capful for large loads and I use about 1/5 of a capful for small loads! It smells very strong and the clothes come out smelling clean and fresh. Even smelly kitchen rags and sponges that smell will come out clean and fresh.
Since it is expensive, I do not use Persil ProClean every time. I use another name brand laundry detergent for most loads. There is a difference in laundry detergents. I grew up with a mother who told me that buying name brands was a waste of money and I believed her until I had kids. Then I realized quickly that you get what you pay for. So that is why I have to recommend watching the Sunday paper for a coupon for Persil ProClean and watching for a sale and having a bottle on hand for those awful laundry mishaps.
Thanks for stopping by.
